Wow, I was just talking to a friend about how raw concrete should never be used as a finish material, and here I am proven very wrong. All the wood really softens the board-formed concrete really well.

Nonsensical technobabble; Complete and utter drivel. Ok, so the bag weighs 35 grams. That's more than I was expecting after reading the headline. Cool that new material was used for the bag and that she got to play around with this high-tech stuff, but I have no idea which problem is solved by this innovation. The fact that its credentials are borrowed from other fields like aerospace speaks volumes. Like apple saying stuff like "supercomputing processing power", "military grade encryption" etc. This bag is as vacuous as the material it's made from...

When I see examples of market-rate tiny homes (the Micro estates in Tempe come to mind: http://www.colabstudio.com/multifamily-tempe-micro-estates), I have to wonder whether this is a good thing for primary residential use. Meaning, rather than fixing the problem with housing costs and wage growth, we are voluntarily placing ourselves one step closer to homelessness as more spacious becomes more difficult to attain? Or is this just an inflection point where the American model of a single-family dwelling and land ownership is coming to pass?

This appears to be literally on the wrong side of the tracks in Oklahoma City. The developers seem to go to great pains not to show the tower is outside the business district. I'm going to hazard that this is just a developer's crass attempt to increase the value of a site which is currently occupied by a parking lot and self-storage. Interestingly though, AHMM have their OK offices just opposite.

The artwork itself is fun, but given that Paris is not on the sea, I cannot help but think about rising sea levels and global warming. And given that it is meant to represent the coast of Teahupo'o in Tahiti, French Polynesia, where the surfing events will be held, it is pretty irresponsible to fly athletes to Tahiti and back to Paris, and ironically against the Paris Climate Agreement. Global warming is not fun.

Social housing doesn't work, never has. It creates division and...that's antisocial. Low-cost (affordable) housing where the owner pays a reduced interest rate (supported by the government) is an introduction to capitalism and the "owner" integrates into society.

It is a well-placed, massed, proportioned, perfectly structured and organized cube that is blessed by an adequate number of levels and a modern, efficient energy system. Perhaps, the intended disharmony in the front is overstretched, but what counts is the sense of safety, community, and comfort provided in loads by means of transparency that serves just the residents, for example, a light well, combined with a socially functional, raised atrium, playfully connected by a wide sun-lit tunnel with a street-view gallery! The rear facade and fire engine driveway are perfect.

In Australia we currently have an enormous shortage of housing generally – completely unacceptable in a country as wealthy as this – and I have to think this is largely due to the negligible provision of social housing over the last few decades (yes, also exacerbated by increased migration).

Governments seem unable to come up with achievable plans to solve the situation. One reason is the shortage of building industry tradespeople. But another is the apparent need to aim for "best practice" in ALL aspects of the design and construction of public affordable housing. This is resulting in construction-only tender prices for small-scale government projects similar to the overall sale prices (construction land + design + profit) that private developers are asking for similar-sized housing stock.

While it's an admirable goal, I'm sure the homeless would rather there was more acceptable quality housing available.

At a time when the decline of society is no longer questionable, the move to increase population density is at odds with the facts. Humans stacked like cordwood (like every experiment of rats) will double down on the: decrease in birth rates, increase in incidents of violence/anti-social behavior, increase in disease, increased inefficiency of transport and food structure, decrease of living standards, increase of isolative behavior, increase of narcissistic behavior, decreased distinction between the sexes, increase in metal illness and suicide.

But hey, you have but to look at the projects in Chicago. Now evident in every major city. If mankind is to save itself, the population must disperse and reconnect with the basics of the homestead and its close reliance on nature's creator. Bable has fallen!

We can, but should we? With on-site jobs at their lowest point and not coming back for the foreseeable future, this is folly. People in Oklahoma City are going to live here – maybe 10 or 12 of them. When real estate is still attainable(as it is in Oklahoma) I just can't see this as anything but out-of-control dreaming.
